Google Changes the Look of Paid and Organic Search Results on Desktop

Recently, Google has shelled out a new update for the paid and organic search results on desktop. Basically, it’s a modification made to match the previously rolled-out look of the paid and organic search results on a mobile.

This is done to bring the design in line with mobile search engine results because people are showing an inclination towards this design.

Let us discuss the changes that have come up with the new update…

Paid search result changes

For paid searches, the “ad” label is made more prominent and noticeable. It is made bold and in black text as compared to the previous result of the word “Ad” in green within a green box.

Though Google assures that they have made this update for better customer tracking and more prominent, if we go by the early stats it’s seen that users are not embracing it in the way they expected them to be.

In the new design update, you will find that Google has moved the URL and placed it above the headline text and the text color is black.

Statistics say that both paid and organic search results look virtually identical, as the “Ad” label almost looks as a favicon if you do not take a closer look.

Organic search result changes

It is not much different from the paid search result changes like, for the text color, google has also made changes from green to black and moved the URL above the page title.

It would make the viewing experience a better one for the desktop users and also enhance the experience of the site owners.

If we talk about the most prominent change that has come along with this update then we can say it’s the inclusion of favicons.

It gives the site owners an extra thing to optimize when they are into desktop search.

Conclusion

The new update is rolled out to make the search experience better even with the desktop and laptop models apart from the mobiles. You can expect the new changes to start showing in the next few weeks.

You might not notice the changes prominently as it’s similar to the search engine results that show up on the mobile screens.

But to make your search result experiences better with desktop, Google has introduced this new update which you shall be accustomed to sooner.
